I joined the committee as Photographic Officer as I wanted to gain knowledge of what was involved in the day to day running of the pre-school as well as having some input into my children\u2019s education. Being \u201cPhotographic Officer\u201d is great – seeing the children having fun posing and smiling for the camera. It doesn\u2019t take up much of my time and is very rewarding seeing the end product and feeling that I have helped in some way. Meetings last about 1 \u00bd hrs, are relaxed and usually every 6 weeks.<\/em><\/p>\n

We joined the committee two years ago because our son was joining the pre-school and we wanted to be involved. My husband produces the newsletter and I am the treasurer. We’ve enjoyed meeting new people and helping with fun events and activities like the summer fete.<\/p>\n

I decided to join the committee 2 years ago as I wanted to play a part in our child\u2019s Pre-School education, and without people volunteering, the Pre-School would have to close, which would affect so many families. So to be able to attend a meeting every 6 weeks or so was a small ask to ensure that the Pre-School was unaffected. But I am the one to gain, the committee has been very welcoming to new members – you get to meet new people and further integrate into the community plus have a say in the running of Little Acorns. Being part of the committee has been very rewarding and one that I would recommend to others thinking about getting involved.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been on the committee for 10 years!!! \u2013 first of all as a mum and now I work for the pre-school and the committee. I also like the voluntary and social side of being a committee member, especially helping organise fundraising events and parties for the children.<\/p>\n

I felt that joining the committee would be an excellent way for me to have some input into my son\u2019s early education and give something back to the pre-school as I find it difficult to volunteer in the day-to-day activities due to work commitments. So far, joining the committee has been interesting and very rewarding \u2013 the members are extremely supportive and the atmosphere is relaxed. Being part of the committee is fun and sociable. I feel it is important for parents of pre-school children to involve themselves in any way they can in their child\u2019s education and as pre-school is the very foundation stone of this, what better way to ensure your child\u2019s pre-school is supported and managed to its best potential than joining the committee team.<\/p>\n
