Being a parent helper ensures there is plenty of adult help and friendship available for each child. It gives your own child the special experience of seeing you in a different role and offers the children in the pre-school a wider range of adults, each with their own different skills and backgrounds.

Don’t worry if you feel unsure about what to do. The staff will help settle you in. ‘Helping’could be anything from naming pictures, putting on aprons, making puzzles, doing a craft activity, cooking with the children, bringing a pet to pre-school, etc!

For legal reasons, pre-school staff only are permitted to accompany children to the toilet and let anyone in or out of the premises.
